Paying for parking permits with pagoPA
Supa Parking can integrate pagoPA payments into the digital process for requesting, purchasing and renewing municipal parking permits. Citizens start the procedure online, receive payment information and, after a successful result, the system can continue with issuing or activating the authorisation according to the authority's rules.
pagoPA and municipal parking permits
pagoPA is the national platform used for payments to public administrations. For a municipality, connecting it to the parking-permit service means placing payment within the same digital journey used to submit the request and manage the authorisation.
Citizens can pay through the channels provided by pagoPA, online or in person. The authority continues to operate as the Creditor Entity and retains its accounting and organisational configuration.
How does the Supa Parking flow work?
The process can be configured according to the model adopted by the municipality:
- the citizen selects the permit or subscription type;
- Supa Parking collects the request data and determines the applicable tariff;
- the authority's system or technology partner creates the pagoPA position and notice;
- the citizen pays through the preferred channel;
- the result is associated with the application;
- the permit is issued or submitted to the checks required by the municipality.
The actual automation depends on the APIs and services of the pagoPA partner or intermediary selected by the authority.
Matching payment and authorisation
Linking the application, payment identifier and result reduces the risk of unmatched receipts and manual checks. Staff can see whether the amount due for the permit has been paid before completing its issue.
pagoPA provides authorities with reporting and reconciliation functions for outstanding positions. Supa Parking can use the results made available through the integration to update the permit workflow, keeping payment processing separate from the administrative rules for the authorisation.
Online payment and pagoPA notice
The municipality can offer immediate payment from the portal or a pagoPA notice that can also be used at banks, post offices and authorised merchants. This is useful when the service must remain accessible to citizens who do not want to complete payment online.
The notice, IUV and payment methods are managed through the authority's infrastructure and its technology partner. Supa Parking links this information to the parking application.
What is needed to integrate pagoPA?
The municipality must be part of pagoPA and have either a direct connection or an intermediary or technology partner. Before activation, APIs, taxonomy codes, payment descriptions, revenue chapters, result flows and rules for refunds or incomplete payments are checked.
FAQ
Does Supa Parking replace pagoPA?
No. Supa Parking manages the application and parking permit; pagoPA manages payment to the authority through its infrastructure and Payment Service Providers.
Must citizens pay online?
No. A pagoPA notice can also be paid through enabled physical channels, as well as the authority's website, home banking and payment apps.
Is the permit activated immediately after payment?
That depends on municipal rules. A successful result can activate the permit automatically or start a subsequent administrative check.
Does Supa Parking work with every pagoPA partner?
Compatibility depends on the APIs and services offered by the municipality's technology partner or intermediary. The integration is checked against the system actually used by the authority.
